Hello fellow Skålleague,
I am not sure if you can feel it in the air, but there seems to be a great positive vibe within our industry – lets trust that this positive vibe will spread more than Covid19!
Things are really looking better now that we don’t have that red tape hanging over us and the international market is keen on exploring our shores. This is evident from various posts on social media from our Skål friends here, and overseas.
I have to mention the workshop in this newsletter: what an awesome workshop we had on the 3rd November at the Old Biscuit Mill. We had over 100 travel buyers and excellent exhibitors. I am sure you would have seen all the hype on social media. Our committee has received many e-mails of thanks and positive words spoken.
Heading up the West Coast, we will engage with the role players early next year with regards to forming a Skål club there. We thought it best considering the upcoming festive season and look forward to what 2022 may bring the Skål West Coast club.
We hope that Skål International and Skål Cape Town have been beneficial for you this year. Although it has been a bumpy ride, I can say that for myself and MLT Car Hire & Tours, we have seen the benefits and will definitely be renewing our membership for 2022. I encourage you to do the same and please remember that there is the option of paying it off over three months.
With that said, there is no increase in membership fees for 2022.
Make use of the benefits that are on offer, use the database, social media and where possible attend monthly events. We are spoiled in Cape Town as you have the option of also joining the Winelands Club for their monthly events. No need to book an air ticket (although that would be exciting).
The 2021 Skål International Congress will be held in the virtual world on the 3rd of December at 05h00 South African time. Set that alarm and look forward to having you join me at the congress.
