As we are almost entering the third month of 2022, I hope it has been a good one thus far. I always wonder how many New Year’s resolutions are still going strong? I won’t ask myself that question!
Membership: No doubt you have received your invoice for the 2022 membership renewal. Thank you to those that have paid up and confirmed their ongoing membership. As the travel industry starts to open, and it seems to be opening ‘te lekker’ (as one would say in Afrikaans), we need to be reminded about the value of Skål International.
You need to attend events and network with fellow members and guests; engage on social media, not just locally – but world wide; send us your specials or news that can be distributed on social media or our website – these tools are there for you to make use of. I have gained some great business over the last few months and we hope that you and your business experience the same.
Since November 2021, 360 new members have joined Skål International. Of that, three are from Cape Town.
To the members that have not been able to renew their membership, thank you for being part of Skål Cape Town. You are always welcome to attend our events as a guest.
The tourists are returning: It is music to our ears as we hear of the world opening up and tourists and business people having the opportunity to travel.
The thrill of watching and hearing planes coming and going gives us hope. We need to work hard, but more so to work more cleverly, to tap into these arrivals. Share your thoughts and plans – and remember to collaborate with fellow industry friends. If you have followed the news, Cape Town has welcomed a great number of people recently.
Skål International South Africa will be hosting its 2022 AGA in Pretoria, over the weekend of the 25, 26 and 27 March. If you find yourself in Pretoria or would like to be part of the AGA, please do let me and I will forward all the relevant details.
The event will be held at the lovely Intundla Game Lodge & Bush Spa.
