To the Wonderful Members of The Best Club in The World – and I mean that with my
whole heart.
This is the last newsletter of the year and I’m keeping it brief in the hope that Colleen
will actually read it 😊
It’s been an amazing ride for 2022 – we’re a few days away from singing Auld Lang
Syne and bringing in a brand new year. If 2022 was anything to go by, I cannot wait
for 2023.
The past year for me was a lot about RE – rebranding, re-engineering, re-inventing
and reconnecting. The blueprint for 2023 is set – it’s time for all the creativity, ingenuity
and positive energy to flow through all that we do and take on. Let’s replace re with
Encourage, Engage and Include. Hold on to your hats – it’s going to be an interesting ride!
For those members and guests that attended the combined Christmas lunch, it was a
fabulous event to say the least.
Thank you to all the members of the Cape Winelands and Cape Town committees that
put so much effort into making it the success that is was. This is just one more reason
to celebrate being a part of the Skål family – celebrating and being together with our
other clubs.
Videos and pictures from the trip back after the lunch will obviously not be shared!!!
A special mention to the very gregarious and wonderful President of our sister club –
Jaco Du Plooy. It was a pleasure an honour to do an event alongside Jaco and the
Winelands club.
Here’s to many more shared events and occasions.
We’ve had a year of note in the Cape Town club with so many members returning after
that which we no longer need to speak of, awards, accolades and, of course, one of the
few clubs in the world that has 2 Membre D’Honneurs.
As a special accolade to those folks in our industries who give up their time and are with
their families over this period, the Cape Town committee would like to recognize those
individuals who make the extra effort to positively impact our Tourism and Hospitality
industry.
That said, we’re announcing the Skål Spectacular Staff Superhero of the Season!
Closing date 8 February 2023.
The winner will be announced at the 14th March Skål Cape Town event. The winner has
to be at the event to accept the prize.

Whatever it is you and your loved ones are celebrating as the year ends and a new one begins; on behalf of myself and the Extraordinary Cape Town Committee – we wish you Love, Joy and an Abundance of Happiness.
