Hello fellow Skålleague,
We are almost at the end of another challenging year with many “twists and uncertainties”: that’s how I would describe the last 12 months.
We really ended the year on a high note (excuse the pun) – up on Signal Hill. With two buses from City Sightseeing, we ventured along the Atlantic Seaboard to Camps Bay and up to Signal Hill. The weather and views were perfect – once again Cape Town was showing off her beauty.
With fellow Skålleagues, family and friends enjoying the view and picnic baskets, this truly described what Skål friendship stands for.
I most certainly had a really great time connecting with everyone.
Our year end Christmas Party was well attended at the lovely Cape Milner Hotel. Great service and food! I highly recommend this hotel.
It was definitely all hands on deck, from the GM to waiters, ensuring that we all had a great time. I am sure the highlight was Father Christmas making an appearance and handing out gifts; even to those naughty children!
With the challenges the club has faced this year, I am proud to say that we have conquered them.
A big thank you to the committee for their dedication and not giving up. We have managed to keep membership in the 90’s and every month we had an event (two were virtual) that was well attended. Thank you all for your faith in Skål International Cape Town!
Also: a big Thank You to Bea Liebenberg from Deetlefs Wine Estate who so kindly sponsored the wine for the year. Not too late to get that year end order in.
The Skål International AGA that was held on the 10 December had to be canceled due to technical errors with voting. The AGA was therefor rescheduled and held on 20 December 2021.
I would like to wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a prosperous New Year. Stay safe.

We are pleased to announce that during the virtual Annual General Meeting held on Monday 20 December 2021, Skål International Official delegates voted the new Executive Board for 2022 as follows:
Senior Vice President Burcin Turkkan (Atlanta, USA) becomes the President Elect, while Director Juan Ignacio Steta (Ciudad de Mexico, Mexico) was elected to the position of Vice President.
Marja Eela-Kaskinen (Turku, Finland) continues as a Director, while Annette Cardenas (Panama), and Denise Scrafton (Melbourne, Australia) are the new Directors elected.
Carlos Banks (Fort Lauderdale & Palm Beaches, USA) and José Luis Quintero Maeso (Malaga-Costa del Sol, Spain) have been elected to the positions of Auditor and Deputy Auditor respectively.
Our sincere congratulations to all the newly elected members and awarded.
