Strengthening regional cooperation ahead of the 2026 World Congress in Nelson Mandela Bay
As the global Skål network turns its attention to the 2026 Skål World Congress in Nelson Mandela Bay, regional collaboration across the Cape continues to deepen.
As proud Capetonians, we are hopeful that delegates from around the world will arrive via Cape Town International Airport next September, and our collective efforts are geared towards a vibrant and memorable Cape welcome.
This week, Skål International Cape Town met with Skål International Garden Route in Knysna to reaffirm our shared commitment to Doing Business Among Friends.
The engagement focused on strengthening regional partnerships, enhancing inter-club communication, and aligning strategic priorities. A special highlight of the visit was a Knysna Estuary cruise between the famous Knysna Heads, where members from both clubs enjoyed an afternoon of business discussions and friendship-building against an iconic coastal backdrop.
Hosted by Garden Route President René Stoltz and the committee, the session brought together members from both clubs, including Cape Town President Johan van Schalkwyk, Cape Town Immediate Past President and Skål South Africa Vice President Dawn Smith, and Cape Town member Preston Pietersen.
