February 2021 Newsletter

Dear Skålleagues,

Trusting February was a good month and March is even better.

After moving to level one, let’s hope that the light at the end of the tunnel is shining a little brighter – remaining positive during these times.

SICT AGA
Thank you to those members that attended our AGA virtually and made it a success. I am pleased to say that the majority of the committee have stayed on for 2021. I am sorry to see you leave the committee, but thank you for your commitment during 2020. I would also like to welcome Johan van Schalkwyk & Mandi Jarmin to the team. Further down the newsletter you will find a photo of the 2021 committee.

SISA AGA
On the 5-7 March, Skål Intl South Africa’s held it’s 2021 AGA. Our host for this year is Skål Intl Garden Route and held in Mossel Bay. Thank you to Club President Riaan, the committee & various establishments that helped to make it an enjoyable event. Pleased to announce that Fiona Angelico will remain as our National President, myself as Snr Vice President, Alewijn as Jnr Vice President.

Club Membership
Understandably, our club membership has decreased, however still looking promising. Majority of the members that have resigned have sighted finances as the reason. Even though they have had to resign, they are still very keen to receive our monthly newsletter, be kept up to date with club happenings and invites (in the hope of being able to attend a function). I wish them and you, all the best as we face this year.

Presidents Charity 2020
The Presidents charity of the year for 2020 is the Sierra Animal Foundation, with a donation of R3000,00. The foundation is a NPC and on behalf of animal shelters, they source funding & sponsorships. The funds from SICT will be distributed equally between Pit Pals & Change For The Better Foundation.
For more information on the Sierra Animal Foundation, please contact Annique Morkel on 084  799 4943.

FYI on the Presidents Charity
For those that are not fully aware, the club President is solely entitled to donate a sum of money to a charity every year. This sum is dependent on various factors.
